Student Council

Student Council exists to serve our Savior, our student body, our school, and our community.

Student Council worked hard this summer to plan for the upcoming school year. We did 2 Adopt-a-Highway cleanings, one trip to a Deep River Water Park, and three planning sessions. During those planning sessions lots of work was done, decisions were made, and now it is time to have some fun. Thank you Student Council members for your hard work, lets have a great year! – Mr. Uhlenbrauck and Mr. Zastrow

Lock – In

Are you ready for the awesomeness that is this years glow in the dark themed lock-in? Well, you’d better be by the 3rd of October, because that is when the magic happens. There will be tons of things to do over the course of the night, such as video games, karaoke, and movies, but to experience any of it, you have to be there. Admission to this fun time is only $5.00. I’d choose that over sleeping any night. The fun starts after 6 P.M. church, and ends at 5 A.M. the next day! So if you wanna party all night long, be there!

Movie Nights

Movies, popcorn and FUN! All Illinois Lutheran High School students are invited to show up for our movie nights sponsored by the ILHS student council. Check out these event dates, get your friends together, and make plans to attend.

Illinois Lutheran’s Got Talent

This year Illinois Lutheran Student council is adding a new event to our calendars! An event that can show off all of the talent that our school has to offer. This event is called Illinois Lutheran’s Got Talent: a night filled with any kind of ability there is to show off. On March 12th, come to ILHS to enjoy a night of amazing talent! If you are interested, keep an eye out for signup sheets!

Mission Trip

Student council has 3 possible mission trips this year. Katy, Texas – Austin, Texas – Colorado Springs, Colorado. Tentative dates are March 16-22.

Going on a mission trip is a great way to share and express your faith with other people. Some of those people have never heard about the love of their Savior Jesus Christ. Mission trips are also an amazing way to meet other brothers in sisters of Christ. You get to meet people who believe in the same Savior as you and won’t judge you for believing in Jesus. These friendships will last a lifetime. I hope you consider going on a mission trip, it’s truly an amazing experience.

Laughter, sno-cones, games and friends all are found at the Carnival. You’re in luck because on April 16th from 5-8 ILHS has one. Hope to see you there!

Chalk the Sidewalk

ILHS is hosting its first Chalk the Sidewalk! ILS students will be able to come to the high school and draw on parts of the parking lot and sidewalk with chalk that would be provided by Student Council. We welcome you to come anytime from 12:00 to 2:00 on April 30th.

Prom 2016 – “Tale as old as time!”

Calling all Beauties and Beasts… A “Tale as Old as Time” is the Prom theme this year which will take place on Friday, May 6th. Students are sure to make great memories while dining and dancing with friends (and maybe even Mrs. Potts!). Even Gaston would be sure to have a wonderful night.

Great America – Grad Night

ILHS will be going to Great America for Grad Night again this year.

Save the date May 16th, 2015!

Serving our School

Every year we do recycling. It is something that our school takes pride in by knowing that we are helping the environment.

Student Council provides snacks through our vending machine. We are also selling coffee in the MPR before school. There will also be Charger mugs available for only $5.00! If you bring that mug or your own from home, you will receive $0.25 off your coffee!

Operation Beautification

Every year, we go about our usual school day, in a beautiful school, with wonderful teachers. However, in just one year, tons of dust, garbage and weird, sticky, unidentifiable green stuff can pile up all around us. So, on the 13th of January, we’re going to give back to this magnificent school, by cleaning up the dust, garbage and weird, sticky, unidentifiable green stuff, together. For only one day, we are going to put in all our effort to clean up the school, so that, when people walk into this school, deciding whether they want to get their education here, they can think “wow, they really take care of this place”.

Serving our Community

Faith in Action

This year ILHS Student Council will be joining with Trinity Lutheran for the annual Faith in Action Day. Faith in Action is a time when the community gets together to support a greater cause. Here’s how it works, on October 10th we put doorhangers on people’s doors in the crete community telling them to leave food on their doorstep the following saturday. On October 17th we get a group together and go door to door collecting all of the donations and donating it to the Crete food pantry. Illinois Lutheran will be contributing to this cause by holding our own school wide food drive. We need your help! Donate food and help people in need!

Trunk or Treat

This Halloween, ILHS is having a Trunk or Treat for the whole community! Park your cars and decorate them however you want OR come dressed up and enjoy trick-or-treating in the parking lot. Trunk or treat will be October 31st at the High School parking lot.

Ronald McDonald House

On November 6th, February 12th, and May 20th we are heading up to Chicago to make a meal for the families of the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House provides housing for families with children undergoing treatment at local hospitals. This house in particular services the families of patients receiving treatment at the the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital. This is an opportunity to show the love of Jesus to those who are ill. So save the date and get involved!

Christmas Toy Drive

You are walking through the store and you see a cute toy. You really want to buy this toy but you know you will never use it. Okay buy the toy and donate it to the TOY DRIVE and it will be given to a child that will use it and love the toy through the Walter Payton Foundation. More information will be coming soon.

Collection from November 2nd to 20th.
