October Orders – Due Tomorrow

Possible Changes

As we approach the last few days of the month, we have been able to evaluate our lunch program. With the lack of interest in the program, it is possible that it will be suspended, starting in October.

If you would like to order lunch for October, please fill out the order form by this Friday, September 25. If we have to suspend the program due to lack of interest, we will notify you on Monday, September 28, that lunches ordered will not be served in October. If we do suspend the program, it will only be a temporary suspension. We hope to begin the program again at a later time.

October Menu

October orders are due on Friday, September 25.

With the rules and regulations in place for the pandemic, our school lunch program will look different this year. Here are the details:

  • Single orders are $3.50.
  • Double orders are $5.50.
    • A double order is two sandwiches and one serving of sides.
    • On PB&J day, a double at the JH & HS is three Smuckers Uncrustables and one serving of sides.
    • On PB&J day, a double at the elementary school is two Smuckers Uncrustables and one serving of sides.
  • Food:
    • Each day we will offer a different type of sandwich. The pre-wrapped sandwich will include meat and packets of single serving mayo and mustard. PB&J is a Smuckers Uncrustable (may be substituted with handmade PB&J).
    • Sides will be prepackaged.
    • Utensils and napkins will be prepackaged.
  • Orders need to be placed for the entire month.
  • Late orders will not be accepted.
  • We can no longer accept weekly or daily orders.
  • There is no walk up option to order at the window. We do have limited vending options (chips, granola bars, etc).
  • Orders will be submitted online, just like last year.
  • You will not be submitting payments to the office. Your payment will be added to your FACTS account. Once you receive the email that your monthly school lunch fee has been added to your FACTS account, you can login and pay. This payment will not be added to your actual tuition payment, so it will not automatically pull from your account. You will have 30 days to pay your school lunch bill. You may make partial payments.
  • Your child should bring bottled water to school. The fountains will not be on due to COVID restrictions. We do have vending machines with pop, water and sports drinks.

No Contact Food Drive

Illinois Lutheran Student Council is kicking off our annual food drive to help “stock the shelves” of the Crete Food Pantry. Many in our ILS families, churches and the surrounding community have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and need our help! Please join us to help relieve some of the burden for those who rely on the Crete Food Pantry for food donations.

This year it will look a little different:

  • ILS will be hosting a no-contact, non-perishable food drop-off on Saturday, October 10, from 9 AM to 12 PM at ILHS (1610 Main Street).
  • Please bring your canned or boxed goods or any non-perishable, unopened food items.
  • Just drive-in to the ILHS parking lot, and students, staff and volunteers will gladly take your food donations.
  • We will also be placing containers around town where you can drop-off your donations.

If you have questions about this project or would like to donate another way, please contact Illinois Lutheran High School at 708.672.3262.

Exciting news for our Charger fans and Illinois Lutheran families! Illinois Lutheran Spirit Wear is available now to order. Now is the time to show your pride and support of ILS and Booster Club! T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and many other items are available. Fashionable and fun new items are on the way too! Let’s show our school spirit and have a great year together!

To purchase items, print and fill out the Booster Spirit Wear Form, or have your child pick one up from the office. Then your child can drop off the completed paperwork to the school office.

Questions? Call or text Mrs. Debbie Cantu at 708-899-9517! Thank you for your support!
