Junior High & High School – Early Release On Wednesdays During Advent
During the Advent Season, our churches (Zion and Trinity) hold special Wednesday afternoon Advent services. In order to allow time for our students and faculty to attend services and avoid parking lot congestion, school at the high school and junior high will be dismissed at 3:05 PM instead of the normal time of 3:18 PM. This early release will be in effect on December 1, December 8, and December 15. Please note this time change and plan accordingly.
Change in Traffic Pattern at the Junior High & High School for Advent Services
Dear Parents, Families, and Friends,
As we approach the Advent season, we want to make you aware of changes that we have been asked to make to our traffic pattern at the JH/HS for pick-up and drop-off on the days of Advent Services: December 1, December 8, and December 15.
- Traffic leaving the high school parking lot will be restricted to the right lane only as you turn onto Main Street (for both the north and south entrances/exits).
- The left hand lanes will be reserved for incoming church traffic, so it is essential that you remain in the right hand lane.
The lanes will be clearly marked with cones and signs. Please pay special attention to the crossing guard’s directions and use extreme caution.
This traffic pattern will remain in effect for the entire day and evening of December 1, December 8, and December 15.
Please note that the JH/HS students will be released early at 3:05 PM on December 1, December 8, and December 15.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Please use extreme caution and safety whenever you enter or leave our parking lot. Questions? Please contact the high school at 708.672.3262.
From the Latin word for “coming,” Advent is a time of preparation and anticipation for the coming of Christ both in the past in His incarnation as the baby Jesus, but also in the future with His promised second coming as Christ Triumphant. Furthermore, Advent is a time to focus on His present coming to us in the Word and Sacraments. We invite you to join us at Trinity or Zion to celebrate this Advent season.
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appears.
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.

- Once students are in the building for a game, they must remain in the gym or multi-purpose room.
- Unless a student has permission from the site manager, once he/she leaves the building, he/she is not allowed to re-enter the building.
